About ZINARA Toll Fees
The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) operates tollgates on major highways across Zimbabwe. Toll fees fund road maintenance and construction. Fees are charged per tollgate and vary by vehicle category and road type.
Premium vs Other Roads: ZINARA distinguishes between premium roads (Harare-Beitbridge and Plumtree-Mutare corridors) and other roads. Premium roads carry higher toll fees.

Premium roads include the Harare-Beitbridge and Plumtree-Mutare corridors.

Motorcycle Exemption
Motorcycles are exempt from toll fees at all ZINARA tollgates in Zimbabwe.
Exemptions
The following vehicles are exempt from toll fees:
- Motorcycles
- Emergency vehicles — ambulances, fire engines (when on duty)
- Zimbabwe Defence Forces vehicles on official duty
- Government vehicles with proper identification
- Diplomatic vehicles with CD plates
- Funeral processions — hearses carrying a body (some tollgates)
Payment Methods
- Cash — US dollars or ZiG (Zimbabwe Gold) at the prevailing official exchange rate
- EcoCash — mobile money payment
- InnBucks — mobile payment
- ZINARA Smart Card — prepaid card for frequent travellers
- Bank card — POS machines available at some tollgates
