How to apply for a Zimbabwe Police Clearance (criminal record check) locally and from abroad
A Police Clearance Certificate (also called a criminal record check or good conduct certificate) confirms whether you have any criminal record in Zimbabwe. It is commonly required for:
Go to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the corner of 10th Street and Josiah Chinamano Avenue, Morris Depot, Harare. You can also apply at provincial CID offices.
A fingerprint technician will take your fingerprints on the official Form 137.
Pay US$5 (standard) or US$10 (urgent) at the CID office. Fees can be paid in USD or ZiG (Zimbabwe Gold) at the prevailing rate.
Processing takes 2 to 4 weeks. You'll be given a collection date.
